Gwindel Quartz – Mont-Blanc, France

Smoky quartz “gwindel”, showing a light chlorite coating on some faces. This “elongated” shape is quite unusual in the Mont-Blanc mountains, compared to the gwindels found in the Swiss Alps. This one comes from a nice pocket with many gwindels, found during summer 2024.
