Amethyst scepter – Les Droites, Mont-Blanc
Here is a perfect amethyst scepter on its matrix. Scepters still on matrix are very hard to find in this area. Like most of the amethyts from this rare locality, the color is very pale. Amethyst is a scarce mineral in the Alps mountains, especially in the Mont-Blanc area. This specimen was found by the famous crystal seeker Christophe Peray.
