Fluorite – Les Droites, Mt-Blanc, France

This specimen is howing four purple fluorite octahedrons on matrix, with hematite micro crystals. Purple fluorite is extremely rare in the Mont-Blanc mountains. this specimen comes from a unique find made by C. Peray & S. Khayati in 2016 in Les Droites. the fluorite crystals look to have a two generations growth, the second generation being beautifully colored in deeper purple. No damage to notice, it’s a small but very rare specimen for any alpine mineralogy collection.
