Hematite & Rutile
Cavradi gorge, Curnera Valley, Tujetsch, Surselva Region, Grisons, Switzerland
Cavradi is a world famous locality for its epitaxial red rutile on hematite specimens. This one shows lustrous hematite blades carrying partially gemmy, deep red rutile crystals attached to a small rock crystal with rehealed bottom. As always, pictures don’t do justice to these metallic specimens. Size: 40 mm x 25 mm x 25 mm

Val Cavrein, Grischun, Switzerland
Over two dozens complex, perfectly transparent apatite crystals cover this thin metamorphic rock slice. Overall very lustrous, the crystals are rather complex and covered in numerous faces, sometimes so lustrous and transparent that it makes it hard to photograph. Associated, a number of creamy pericline and adularia crystals of good quality. In excellent conditions and especially rich for the Swiss Alps. Ex B. Florin collection. Size: 107 mm x 73 mm x 20 mm.
