La Gardette, Bourg d’Oisans, Isère, Rhône-Alpes, France

Perfect quartz cluster from the famous La Gardette mine. Beside having produced some fine gold specimens, this locality has seen some of the best quality quartz in the world. The quartz used for the chandeliers of the Versailles castle came from La Gardette. The mine was closed years ago and these specimens become harder and harder to find. This one comes with its original old label from the ex Gerhard and Edeltraut Breust collection. Size: 62 mm x 53 mm x 55mm

Gwindel Quartz

Shalman Area, Khyber Agency, (FATA), Pakistan

Very typical gwindel shaped quartz on matrix. Specimens on matrix from Pakistan are very hard to find. As always, these Pakistani specimens are colorless, contrary to the famous Alpine smoky gwindels. Size: 125 mm x 90 mm x 65 mm
